Upcoming Event: The Acid 5k at Burning Man
Join us for the Acid 5k at Burning Man! We welcome runners and support bikers – The Acid 5k “the race that’s never a 5k”
Date – Tuesday, August 27, 2024
Time – Noon ish
Departure location – Honkers Harbor (8:15 & C)
What to know – the last Acid 5k was held at Lighting in a Bottle and turned into an all day running event that covered nearly 13 miles. Come prepared for all things Burning Man and pack accordingly. Acid 5k’s are known for turning into full day events of fun, adventure, laughs, side missions, and lots of miles. There is no winner and no clear finish line – when you are done, you will know.
About the co-creators – Hi! We are Z & Z – two childhood best friends who grew up running together in Bend, OR, and have stayed running buddies and best friends for over 30 years! During the pandemic, we went to the Alvord desert during burn week for a remote trip with close friends, and after an acid brunch, the thought occurred to just “go for a quick 5k”. Campmates were recruited, and the Acid 5k was born. The tradition continues whenever the mood strikes and time allows. Acid 5k’s can be held anywhere at any time!
